Chris Miller
Owner / CEO
Chris Miller is Owner and CEO of CJM Development Group, a leading Salt Lake City-based, full-service building, and development company. Chris has been personally involved in the development and ownership of 9 multi-family projects totaling approximately 3,000 units since 2007. Chris Miller has worked under the direction of his father, Gary S. Miller who since 1986 has developed more than 5,000 multi-family units valued at over $700 million. Chris was mentored by his father prior to starting his own development company, CJM Development Group.
In his role as Owner and CEO of CJM Development Group, Chris’s responsibilities include overseeing the development and construction of all multi-family projects along with being involved in determining the market feasibility and the financing of projects. Chris is charged with ensuring that projects are built within the budget, on time and with high-quality workmanship.
Chris’ previous experience included the ownership, development, and construction of projects including the following:
Farmgate, a 496 –unit, conventional rate apartment community HUD 221 (d)(4) in Herriman, Utah, the project was sold for $68 million; Timbergate, a 288-unit, valued at $30.3 million affordable rate with a tax credit enhancement, in Herriman, Utah; Egate, a 304 unit, valued at $52.5 million conventional rate apartment community in West Valley City, Utah.
Also, with his previous employment, in 2013, as an owner and developer, Chris was part of completing Fireclay Phase I in Murray, Utah, a 400- unit, $70 million conventional rate apartment community. Fireclay Phase II in Murray, Utah, a 268-unit $31 million affordable rate with a tax credit enhancement community; and Rosegate in Sandy, Utah, a 159-unit, valued at $26 million, active adult 55 and older conventional market-rate apartment community. More recently, Chris was instrumental in the completion of Rosegate in Draper, Utah, a 277-unit, valued at $56 million active adult 55 and older conventional market-rate apartment community; Cobblegate in Sandy, Utah, a 416-unit, luxury market-rate apartment community, the project was sold for $95 million; and Sagegate in West Valley, Utah, a 278-unit, apartment, and townhome community sold for $55 million.
In his role as Owner and CEO of CJM Development Group, Chris oversees construction management, financial performance, innovation and technology, operational quality, design of construction plans, creating and managing budgets, as well as training and career development for CJM Development Group’s employees.
Finally, Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Project Management. He and his wife Alissa, are the parents to three children
